Course description
The purpose of this course is to present standards and regulatory frameworks and instruments on renewable energies. More specifically, the course aims is to introduce companies and experts in the knowledge and management of renewable energy sources with energy storage systems. The introduction of best practices about energy management within the smart grid scenario allows companies and experts to improve their competitiveness by optimizing energy efficiency, costs and environmental impact.

Module 1 - Introduction to IoE: Introduction to IoT and IoE, Background and Perspectives, IoE technology, IoE Business, IoE business analysis, IoE business strategy

Module 2 - Smart uses and management of renewables energies: Smart grids, Smart uses of IoE, IoE and smart management of renewable energy

Module 3 - Energy storage systems: Introduction on the storage of energy, Main technologies of energy storage systems, Energy Storage Modelling and performance parameters, Hybrid energy storage systems, Laboratory tests on energy storage system

Module 4 - IoE data analysis: Big data for IoE, Machine learning for IoE, Prediction and simulation models for IoE

Module 5 - Basics of networking and security: Introduction to Networking for IoE environments, Connectivity in Smart Grids, Introduction to IoE security, Smart grids/cities vulnerabilities
